Charlies Beach & Smokehouse

Even though it was raining cats and dogs, we enjoyed our evening greatly. The food was simply awesome! We ordered the rump, the seafood platter and the sticky pork belly. The steak was cooked ideally and everything else was very good as well. The portion size of the seafood platter could have been a little bigger. The waiter was friendly and our overall expectations were definitely met.

The food was out of this world. The most delicious coral trout and pork belly. The flavours were just an explosion of pure deliciousness. The atmosphere was divine....we felt as though we were on a tropical little island away from everything. I'm definitely going back again and again and again. Very happy.

Lovely dinner at Charlie’s!! Cocktails were delicious and meals were sensational. Great fresh seafood! I saw previous negative reviews regarding long wait times however ours was fine (<20mins). Staff were friendly and advised of long wait times when we arrived. Would recommend!!

Definitely recommend this place for lunch or dinner. Beautiful setting, amazing food and menu, and lovely area to sit with the choice of drinks and ice cream too. The best food we’ve had since being in Australia. Fairly expensive but big portions and close on the beach.

Council works is making it very difficult for the owners however, we chanced it and the food and service was fantastic.

The best tasting food I’ve had since landing in Australia! Would recommend to anyone visiting Mission Beach.

What a gem! We weren't overly impressed with our accomodation restaurant reviews and prices so we went for a stroll along the beach and found Charlies! It was quiet (roadworks in the side street were most likely the cause of this or the Monday night!) But we were welcomed the moment we looked our head in the door! With a tapas/share menu along with the normal menu we were spoilt for choice. All our food choices were delicious and the portion sizes were quite big. Our son had the salt/pepper Calamari and it was the perfect size for him. We also shared the garlic bread, brisket main dish and bratworst. We all left with full tummies and feeling spoilt by the friendliest staff! Kid-friendliness: Extremely welcoming to our 5yr old! Menu has afew kid options but also welcomes suggestions to keep kids happy!

Enjoyed a delicious vegan tapas dinner last night. Staff were very attentive.
