Charlie’s Beach House

Amazing friendly, relaxed atmosphere overlooking beach and sea. Great food. Service was quick and professional. Seafood was fresh, cocktails fantastic and to Finnish good gelato and smooth rich coffee made to perfection

We visited Charlie’s Beach House during our honeymoon and it instantly became one of our favourite dining memories of the trip. We shared the Platter Del Mar and it was a genuine seafood lover’s delight - every element was beautifully prepared and full of flavour.

The cocktail menu was just as impressive. The Waterdragon (pineapple + habanero) was refreshing with the perfect spicy kick and is a drink I’ll be thinking about for a long time.

It happened to be an unusually busy night (several nearby restaurants had closed unexpectedly), and the team at Charlie’s handled the rush with admirable effort. There was a bit of a wait, but the food was more than worth it, and we really appreciated the hardworking staff keeping everything moving.

The beachy atmosphere, delicious food, and creative cocktails made for a wonderful evening - one we’ll remember as part of our honeymoon.

Wow chicken burger was really amazing, best bread ever. Friendly helpful service. Chill location I would say that some menu items are expensive..

Pretty busy for a Tuesday night. However the wait time was a bit ridiculous...1.5hours for burnt skewers and Caribbean bowl - the flavours were odd. Least they came out together! The wait staff were run off their feet trying to do everything. The price point was high for average food.

A little pricy but high quality food and drinks

Great view, great portions, great food! We went on a Monday and it was very quiet and relaxed. Would definitely go back.

Absolutely perfect dinner, not expected!

Ate here twice while on holiday for a week. Was definitely good enough to go back. We tried:
- Brisket Nachos - Fantastic
- Whiting Salad - winner for my partner who isn’t normally a salad person
- Prawn Salad - beautiful and light but a bit overpriced.
- Salt and pepper squid (kids)
- Waffles (kids)

Everything was great! Not sure what the negative reviews were on about to be honest.

If you are chasing a cocktail, the Green Frog was awesome.

Great Location with a perfect view to the ocean. Great fresh food. Luckily we did not check the reviews before. I had the catch of the day that just tasted delicious.

I had noted that the reviews for this restaurant were a mixed bag; the food is great but the service can be poor.
Impressed by the fantastic choice of German beers, the 18 hour smoked Brisket and the lovely casual vibe, having earlier popped in for a late afternoon drink, we decided to give it a go.
The food coming out to other tables looked really good and then we noticed people who had arrived after us were receiving their meals before us . We chased our waiter a couple of times and was told the food is on its way before finally they admitted they lost our docket. After that it still took an unacceptable amount of time for our meals to arrive.

All up we waited 1 hour 20 mins .

When I paid the bill the owner/chef did come out to apologise but I was some what surprised he did not offer to take a couple of drinks off the bill.

Yes the food was good but I guess with this place it’s a question of do you feel lucky.
