Charlie’s Beach House

Had dinner and a couple drinks here on Saturday night. This place had a great vibe! Live music (easy listening), right on the beachfront with a view, food was awesome - smoked Caribbean nachos. A selection of drinks I’d never seen which was good because it made me try something new (Hemingway’s Canecutter Lager 👌). Staff were all so friendly and accommodating. I’ve already recommended this place to friends and I’ll definitely come back if ever in the area again.

This place is the place to eat,relax and enjoy mission beach. The owner is the chef and he’s good and very accommodating making you feel part of the family. Keep up the great work hope to see you guys again .

We stopped into Charlie’s Beach House this past weekend while out for a walk along Mission Beach. The smell from the smoker caught our attention and the menu looked great, especially for the kids. It wasn’t until afterwards that I saw some of the mixed feedback, which honestly surprised me a bit given our experience.

We walked in with a group of 10, including 4 young kids, and were pleasantly surprised to get a table straight away. The location is hard to beat, right on the beach with that laid back tropical beach shack vibe.

The menu had plenty to choose from and catered really well for the kids, with huge portion sizes that were great value. Everything we ordered was delicious, particularly the burgers which were all really tasty. The drinks and food overall were really enjoyable, though there was a noticeably long wait time given the place wasn’t full by any means. It didn’t bother us too much on this occasion as we were in full holiday mode and soaking up the atmosphere, but it is probably worth keeping in mind if you are arriving super hungry or on a shorter schedule.

Service was a little disorganised and at times felt a bit chaotic, but still friendly enough that it did not take away from the overall experience. Prices felt reasonable for the portion sizes which were definitely on the larger side, so we left full and satisfied.

Overall, it is a cute, relaxed, beachside cafe with great food, awesome drinks and a cruisy vibe. Perfect for a casual meal or cocktail by the ocean!

Came across Charlie’s by chance whilst out wandering - looked so relaxing we had to stop for a drink, which grew to dinner! Thoroughly enjoyable! Food was delicious, pulled pork nachos so good!! And a beautiful view out over the ocean to watch the afternoon turn into night!

A must visit! It was a very busy weekend and the staff did such a great job keeping up. It has fantastic views, food and drinks. You can really lose yourself here for the day. Definitely recommend trying their special pina colada plus their many other cocktails on offer. Really fantastic spot!

Forever dreaming about the seafood tagliatelle. Rare to find such a lovely relaxed beach front restaurant that has really great food! Looks even better now the street construction has finished too.

Location was great, service not great and food was a let down. Our food was cold, tasteless and overpriced. Cannot recommend this place. Go to the Brewery, cheaper and better!

My partner and I love this little place!! Food was amazing portion sizes are perfect. The staff are so kind and their service was so good !!! Come here you have to !!!

We did a day trip from cairns to check out the recent mission beach upgrade. Charlie’s was one of the few places open for a Sunday lunch so there was half a dozen tables seater enjoy the beachfront vista.
We had some beers, soda water before ordering a chicken burger, whiting and Mediterranean platter. We finished off with ice cream. We thoroughly enjoyed everything served, the venue and service.
We will be back!

Highly recommend!! We were in Mission Beach for 2 nights and had lunch at Charlies both days as it was so good! Special mention to the baked camembert entree, delicious! The staff are super friendly and accommodating. Great food and service!

We came down to mission beach for a long weekend and we ate at Charlie’s twice because we loved it.

The service and food were fantastic with a perfect beach location.

Be sure to try a cocktail and the baked camembert!

Chilled laid back atmosphere- great food- great drinks- would definitely recommend.

Shout out for their spicy margarita.
