Nandroya Falls

Beautiful place, easy hike to get there!

I recommend taking the longest road to get to the waterfall since you can see many more waterfalls.

This was a lovely hike. Well worth the walk. Google Maps takes you to a random spot on the side of the road, trail actually starts from Henrietta Creek Campsite. Allow for 2.5/3hrs. I dordled and stopped to take photos on the way there and it took me about an hour. I picked up the pace a little on the way back and it took me 30mins. I went about 7:30am and didn’t see another person. The path to the right at the fork was closed. Wear long pants and tuck them into socks as there are a few leeches about. Check every 15/20mins for leeches and bring a lighter to get them off. It has been raining recently and rained while I was on the trail (forest kept me sheltered) so the path is quite muddy in places, the worst of it has logs placed so you can avoid it. There are two river crossings. One is early on and has a plank across it and the other is at Silver Falls (~10mins from Nandroya Falls) the rocks and Silver Falls are slippery and a little wobbly so test before placing full weight on them. Because of the boggy trail and wet rocks I recommend hiking shoes but any enclosed grippy shoes should be fine. There are a few large trees that have fallen across trail so have to crouch a little to get under. Pay attention to the sign at the start of the trail, once you get to the waterfall there are a few of the stinging plants about but easy to avoid if you keep an eye out. There is nowhere dry to stop and sit once you leave the car park so pack a snack that you can eat on the go, remember to take your rubbish with you!! The spot down to the right at the start of the trail is lovely for a swim

If raining, track can be somewhat tricky if you want to keep shoes dry with 2 stream crossings and some narrow bits. At the end, to get closer to the falls, there is no path and you need to walk on stones. Very few people, only met 1 other group the whole time.

Nandroya Falls walk was closed when I went today 11.02.24. Don't know how long it will be closed for.
